About the Minneapolis Heart Institute
The Minneapolis Heart Institute was established to help prevent and combat the universal problem of heart disease. We are committed to making a difference in the quality of life of the people we serve, both here in our own community and around the world.
The Minneapolis Heart Institute is recognized internationally as one of the world's leading heart institutes. This state-of-the-art facility combines the finest in personalized patient care with sophisticated technology in a unique, family-oriented environment. The Institute's programs, a number of which are conducted in conjunction with Abbott Northwestern Hospital, address the full range of heart-health needs: prevention, diagnosis, treatment and rehabilitation.
The Minneapolis Heart Institute believes in a team approach to medical care and the involvement of patient, family and primary care physician every step of the way with our physician staff. We feel that such support, understanding and education are vital not only for successful treatment, but also to achieve the best possible rehabilitation and recovery.
The Minneapolis Heart Institute is complemented by its companion organization, the nonprofit Minneapolis Heart Institute Foundation. Composed of Institute physicians and lay members of the community, the Foundation conducts extensive research to evaluate new preventive therapies and to study innovative treatment methods. It also explores the latest techniques to improve noninvasive and surgical procedures and to reduce the stress and costs of cardiac care without compromising quality.
Our extensive research capability keeps our treatment methods - whether non-surgical or surgical - on the leading edge of cardiovascular medicine today. In fact, three out of four patients who visit the Institute receive non-surgical treatment. |
