Our Organization
The Minneapolis Heart Institute® (MHI) is a specialized, state-of-the-art facility providing high-quality medical care to individuals with heart disease in the United States and abroad. Its programs, a number of which are conducted in conjunction with Abbott Northwestern Hospital (ANW), address the full range of heart health needs: prevention, diagnosis, treatment, and rehabilitation. MHI programs encompass heart disease prevention, a complete range of state-of-the-art diagnostic and interventional technologies and corrective surgical procedures. Technologies include balloon angioplasty, atherectomy (rotational, directional and extraction), angiojet thrombectomy, coronary stents, open-heart surgery, heart and heart-lung transplantation, ventricular assist devices, electrophysiology diagnostic studies, radiofrequency catheter ablation, arrhythmia surgery, pacemaker and implantable cardioverter defibrillator implantation, electron beam CT and cardiac MRI.
