The Minneapolis Heart Institute® is a collaboration of medical specialists devoted to the prevention, diagnosis and treatment of cardiovascular disease. The institute was established in 1981, on the campus of Abbott Northwestern Hospital in Minneapolis, Minnesota. In 2005, Abbott Northestern’s Heart Hospital opened to provide a comprehensive inpatient and outpatient cardiovascular services in one facility. The Heart Hospital has:

- Diagnostic testing facilities
- Cardiovascular and electrophysiology laboratories
- A center for cardiovascular surgery
- 128 patient rooms
- Educational and business centers for patients and families
