Practice Philosophy
"What led me to the Minneapolis Heart Institute® was the opportunity to focus my energies within a specific subspecialty of cardiovascular care while surrounding myself with other subspecialists focusing on additional aspects of cardiovascular medicine. This team approach, I believe, fosters a better physician and a better patient experience.
My particular area of expertise is in non-invasive cardiovascular imaging (no needles, catheters, or wires). Specifically, I have focused on nuclear cardiology and echocardiography. These techniques aid in the assessment of coronary heart disease, valvular function, and the contractile strength of the heart muscle. While I perform and interpret these procedures on a routine basis, the majority of my time is still spent caring for patients, both in the outpatient and inpatient setting. Despite the increasing interest in technology in cardiovascular medicine, it is the patient that remains the focus of my practice and it is the person-to-person interactions that I continue to enjoy most."
