The research program at the Minneapolis Heart Institute Foundation is geared towards offering new and effective therapies to our patients, in addition to answering important clinical questions in order to optimize the care of our cardiac patients now and in the future.

Acute Coronary Syndrome Research New treatments for patients with heart attacks or threatened heart attacks.
Angiogenesis Research/The OPTIMIST Program New therapies for patients with chest pain or angina and coronary artery blockages not treatable with coronary artery bypass or angioplasty.
Cardiac Imaging Research New techniques to look at the heart with Electron Beam Computed Tomography Scan (EBCT), Echocardiography, Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI) and Nuclear Imaging.
Cardiovascular Surgery Research New techniques, devices or medications during heart surgery.
Congestive Heart Failure Research New treatments for patients with heart muscle damage.
Electrophysiology Research New treatments for patients with disturbances of the heart rhythm (beat).
Hypertrophic Cardiomyopathy and Sudden Death in Athletes Research The study of inherited heart muscle disease.
Integrative Therapies Research Studies looking at the connection of body, mind and spirit.
