Provacel™ Universal MSC (Mesenchymal Stem Cells) Phase 1 Cardiac Trial

Study of:

Provacel™ is a commercialized stem cell product harvested from donated adult bone marrow. The purpose of this study is to determine the safety of various doses of these stem cells delivered intravenously a few days after a heart attack. Stem cells are simple cells produced by bone marrow that can develop into blood cells or other types of cells. It is possible that these cells will be attracted to and congregate to areas of heart damage and help the heart muscle repair process. Patients will be observed in the hospital a few days after the infusion and be required to attend follow up clinic visits 1 week, 1, 2, 3, and 6 months afterwards. 48 patients from 6 different sites will be enrolled into this clinical trial.
