OPTIMIST Long-Term Follow-Up Database
Study of:
OPTIMIST long-term outcomes
This database will look at the long-term outcome of patients who have myocardial ischemia (blockages in heart arteries that prevent the heart from getting enough blood supply) and who are not ideal patients for a coronary artery bypass or angioplasty/stent procedure.
Patients will be enrolled who have coronary artery disease with complex blockages making angioplasty or surgery difficult or impossible and who have been referred to the OPTIMIST Program for possible new therapies.
Information will be kept in a computerized database. After enrollment, data will be collected once a year by phone or in person. This will include a chest pain review and questions about any tests, treatments, new problems, or medication changes related to the patient’s heart.
